Exploring and learning symmetry in Grade 1 enables children to develop their observational skills and identify similarities and differences between objects, images, pictures etc. relating notions of geometry in their daily lives, since symmetry can be observed in nature in various living forms, for instance, in their own bodies, in the leaves of trees, flowers…

Thus, the group began to build new meanings involving the notions of symmetry by observing their own bodies and movements in front of the mirror, and also by representing through drawing their own sequences to observe the images reflected.

Curiosity and creativity are activated, and students create their own drawings, seeking to represent them in a symmetrical way, in addition, to exploring other patterns present in letters, shapes and everyday objects.

As they explore and investigate the properties of symmetry in different objects, places, and in different shapes, not only the spirit of observation is awakened in children, but also the interest in Mathematics through thought-provoking, creative and fun experiences in which Grade 1 embarks on an adventure through the world of geometry and its enchantments.

Descobrindo a simetria no cotidiano!

Explorar e aprender simetria no Grade 1 possibilita às crianças desenvolverem sua capacidade de observação e a identificarem semelhanças e diferenças entre objetos, imagens, figuras etc. relacionando noções de geometria em seu cotidiano, uma vez que a simetria pode ser observada na natureza em diversas formas vivas, como por exemplo, em seus próprios corpos, nas folhas das árvores, flores…

Assim, a turma começou a construir novos significados envolvendo as noções de simetria observando seus próprios corpos e movimentos em frente ao espelho, e também representando por meio do desenho suas próprias sequências para observar os reflexos.

A curiosidade e a criatividade estão ativadas, e os alunos criam  seus próprios desenhos, buscando representá-los de forma simétrica, além de explorarem outros padrões presentes em letras, formas e objetos do cotidiano.

À medida que exploram e investigam as propriedades de simetria em diferentes objetos, lugares e em diversas formas, é despertado nas crianças não apenas o espírito de observação, mas principalmente o interesse pela matemática através de vivências instigantes, criativas e divertidas e, assim, o Grade 1 embarca em uma aventura pelo mundo da geometria e seus encantamentos.
