Na disciplina de Maker são desenvolvidos diferentes projetos temáticos ao longo do ano. Cada projeto possui uma finalidade específica e trabalha conceitos científicos de maneira lúdica e prática.
No primeiro bimestre de 2021 os alunos do oitavo ano estão estudando os conceitos de força, velocidade e aceleração por meio da construção de um carrinho movido a ar, utilizando apenas materiais recicláveis. Cada estudante escolheu a melhor estratégia de montagem, tendo como desafio conseguir fazer com que seu carrinho andasse a maior distância possível.
Dessa forma, os discentes puderam perceber que os carrinhos se deslocam no sentido oposto ao deslocamento do ar, o que lhes permitiu verificar na prática o conceito da lei de ação e reação, que enuncia que um corpo A ao aplicar uma força em um corpo B, sofre uma força de reação de mesma intensidade, direção e sentidos opostos.
Além disso, os alunos verificaram que os procedimentos e resultados experimentais podem diferir do que foi planejado inicialmente. Nesse caso, o desafio é compreender o que ocorreu e propor soluções para que esses problemas não ocorram novamente em uma eventual segunda montagem.
